As we agreed in the last post, this week we will continue to educate ourselves and learn about digital marketing.

You don't need to be a tech whiz to pick up a few tricks these days, but first, we need to think logically and plan our work. Because let's face it, working without a plan is a recipe for disaster.

  • What is our literary genre?

  • What audience are we trying to reach?

  • Are you willing to be sociable and collaborative?

    These three questions are very important. Let us explain. The first thing you need to understand is that your literary genre has an audience that is constantly looking to consume, and also enjoys sharing with others who like the same material.

Let's say you write science fiction. It's a vast population filled with young people and some not so young; but with a wider range of income who love this kind of reading, they consume everything. Comics, souvenirs, posters, movies... in short, the list is extensive. There are specialized blogs in this branch of literature, joint reading groups, groups on different platforms, are you starting to understand why I asked if you are willing to socialize and collaborate? It's all about knowing and understanding where to invest your time, and the limited financial resources you have. You must do some internal work before releasing your work, connect with the members of the blog, always comment if possible, offer to write articles on the topic so they can get to know your style, of course! Don't go self-promoting like there's no tomorrow, let them get to know you and yes, from time to time let them know how your work is progressing; publish a few pages that don't exceed three, ask them for their opinion. Remember that in "WAR AND LOVE EVERYTHING GOES."

As you progress in your relationships on blogs, social media, and reading groups, you'll see your number of contacts grow. Create an author account, link it to all your networks, and when you're in the cover design phase, show the different options. Let them be part of the process by inviting them to vote for their favorite. When you count the votes, you'll know which cover to choose.

THE BEST IS YET TO COME

Maximize your reach and build a loyal following. 

. Reward your earliest supporters with complimentary digital copies. For those in your local area, organize a special event to connect with them in person and create lasting memories. 

. Offer exclusive discounts to your distant supporters. These strategies will not only thank your fans but also generate buzz and increase book sales.

"Once they have the digital version, they'll probably stick with it."

THIS IS A GRAVE ERROR IN JUDGMENT!!!

Friend, what we are telling you is that you should take advantage of all the

resources you can to mobilize your work, remember that you must act with intelligence and logic, never dismiss any opportunity.


If possible, hire for a few dollars:

  • A freelancer on one of the many digital platforms can create a video for your book if you're not very skilled at video editing.

Open your eyes and you will see that there is a huge market of possibilities for you to place your work among the top 20, if not, among the top 10 in the ranking of the different platforms. It is all about the work and time you dedicate, knowing consciously where you are placing your effort and your time, do not waste it where you will achieve nothing.

We assure you that if you do these things you will gain notoriety and by the time you have your next book ready, you will have followers and therefore loyal evangelists who will give you their support again.

Oh! Something very important, if you happen to meet a celebrity, give him or her your printed book and immediately the obligatory photo with him or her holding your work, BRO, YOU'VE DONE IT! Yes, because if he or she has millions of followers they will see that he or she supports you and guess what, they will buy what their artist consumes.
